History of Motrac Racing
After a successful racing career that went to national level. Steve Hammond took over control of Motrac Racing in 1986 and has worked consistently to develop the business and enhance the range of specialized services it can offer. Including the establishment of the business as a centre of excellence for Dyno testing and carburetion, after the purchase of a Dynojet Dyno in 1991, which was at the time only one of five in the whole of the UK.

Working on ground breaking projects, and intrigued by the technical side of motorcycle engineering and racing, Steve's history has helped him to amass a wealth of knowledge and contacts in this field.

Some of the projects undertaken by Motrac Racing over the years have produced technological advances that have had wider implications in the motorcycle industry as a whole including: Work with Shell research on cylinder bore technology and in the development of high performance motorcycle lubricants. Involvement in the collaboration of two British Universities and industry on the subject of two-stroke technology in a thematic network and development of a new cylinder head design for Yamaha TZ race engines, which was later adapted for other two-stroke engines.

Numerous racers all over the world have also benefited from Motrac Racing's tuning work and cylinder heads, including Scott Guthrie who achieved more than 30 World Landspeed records in the USA.

In fact, working with Scott Guthrie Racing, Steve Hammond's work helped the first normally aspirated motorcycle to achieve over 200mph - back in 1989!

Through his advanced work on Cylinder bore treatment Steve became involved with work on the BSI 500GP project, which in turn lead to him spending time in the pit garages of BSL, Kenny Roberts Snr and his KR3 Modenas Crew, Alex Criville's Honda Squad, Max Biaggi's Yamaha Team and WCM Red Bull, to name just a few.

This brought him into contact with some of the most highly regarded people within the field of motorcycle racing and it is here that Motrac Racing's incredibly high standards of work, commitment and professionalism were inspired.

This time also led to an interest in data-logging and its application, and Steve Hammond has been contracted on occasions by 2D (the world leading data-recording company) and has worked on projects at the highest levels including World Superbikes and British Superbikes, plus numerous projects within industry.

Steve has also continually studied and advanced his knowledge in all aspects of the industry.

With all this experience under his belt, and his commitment to remain at the cutting edge of development, Steve Hammond, and his team of highly skilled technicians at Motrac Racing, can be trusted to provide only the highest levels of service and professionalism.
